In this course you will be exposed to relevant information on significant regulatory government agencies, like Standard Organization (SO), Customs, agencies answerable for Food and Drug Administration and Control (FDAC), the Quarantine Agency, Shipping Lines, Land, Sea or Air Ports Authorities.

Show you the means you really need to take to import/export and forward/clear your merchandise effectively, without being taken advantage of by forwarding/clearing agents, and those searching for inexperienced people to rip off in the business.

You will be exposed to dos and don’ts that you should be aware of to avoid loss of your hard-earned money, and import/export your products at the most reduced conceivable expense.   

You will be taught how to identify the specific classification code of every product and use it to determine the amount of Customs duty you will pay on imported goods.

You will be able to provide the explanation on documents such as the commercial invoice and in some cases, the airway bill; detail what they are, what they are made of, and what they are used for.

You will be involved in calculating and processing duties and taxes to be paid on your proposed import or export goods.

Clearing and freight forwarding agents may assist you with the necessary customs transactions, but you will have to know the detailed requirements to check against falsified billings.

You will be able to identify the arrangements of the freight forwarder as he arranges for your goods to be transported from one country to another, and also what takes place as the clearing agent is making sure that your goods are cleared with customs.
